The agency ordered flight restrictions on planes powered by those engines: jets using two affected engines were ordered to stop flying them within three flight cycles; aircraft with one affected engine are restricted from certain extended-range flights.

In a statement, Airbus said it had informed the airline customers affected by the issue.

A total of 113 A320neo family aircraft delivered to 18 airlines, are equipped with these P&W engines, while the CFM LEAP-1A powered A320neo's continue to operate.

It was recently revealed that Xiaomi could skip the Mi 7 launch at MWC as well, similar to what Huawei and HTC will do. The patent also shows no bezels around, thus making it possible to achieve a 100 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

The issue is the latest in a string of problems that have bedeviled the GTF program.

"Following a problem identified on a limited number of recently delivered Pratt & Whitney GTF engines involving the rear hub of the high-pressure compressor rotor, Airbus and Pratt & Whitney are reviewing the situation", writes the aircraft manufacturer with no further precision.

Last summer, Pratt & Whitney reported it had more than 8,000 GTF engines on order, not only for Airbus customers but for buyers of Bombardier and Embraer jets, too.

Rubbishing his possible move away from Madrid when the next transfer season arrives, Zidane said news of exit is nothing but lies. The Chile star ended up sealing a late move to Manchester United in a swap deal that sent Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal .

The grounding of aircraft came after a directive from European aviation safety regulator European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). "We have three aircraft with the particular engine configuration, which have been flagged by EASA", IndiGo said in a release. Airbus has issued an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) providing instructions "to de-pair the affected engines and discontinue [ETOPS] for aircraft fitted with affected engines", according to EASA.

Earlier overheating problems on the Pratt engines have interfered with A320neo deliveries since early a year ago.

Airbus said in a statement that Pratt is "investigating the root cause of this new finding with the full support of Airbus". "The aircraft have been grounded for technical reasons", the spokesperson said.
