Gaetz made no mention of the infrastructure plan, but over the weekend his fellow caucus members were critical of Trump's spending increases and the trillions these would add to the deficit.

The plan expects approximately 87 percent of the funding to be produced by non-federal entities, but it is still unclear how exactly the White House thinks this funding will be generated.

President Donald Trump's military parade would cost between $10 million and $30 million, White House budget director Mick Mulvaney said on Wednesday.

"The private freight rail industry commends the Trump administration for formally beginning the discussion on infrastructure legislation with this document", said Association of American Railroads (AAR) President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Hamberger in a prepared statement. Afterward, he told reporters the US should try to top it.

Uber's losses ballooned to $4.5bn in tumultuous year
Uber concluded its full year with cash of approximately $6 billion, which is 13% less than it had ending the previous year. Last week, Uber's settled its trade-secrets fight with Alphabet Inc.'s self-driving auto unit, Waymo.

$200 billion for infrastructure over the next decade. The federal diesel tax is 24.4 cents a gallon. The National Retail Federation called it a "bad tax" that would "drive up the prices of countless products Americans use every day".

Trump raised the idea early a year ago, as the administration explored plans for its tax overhaul.

"According to Trump, "'We can not continue to let people come into our country and rob us blind and charge us tremendous tariffs and taxes and we charge them nothing", Trump has been keen on this tax reform ever since his campaign, he even mentioned late 2016 that a couple of countries are taking advantage of the United States' which he visited in the previous meeting. The reason infrastructure plans repeatedly fall apart is because Republicans and Democrats will not get behind them.

But the spending plan is sure to raise the hackles of deficit hawks in Congress who will question how the government can justify such ambitious projects amid yawning revenue shortfalls.

Inflation flatlines at 3% in January: ONS
This afternoon a flurry of U.S. data will be released including the latest Consumer Price Index and Retail Sales data. Wall Street will be watching another inflation indicator, the producer price index, on Thursday.

It also includes $200 billion for rebuilding the nation's infrastructure, and an outlay of $23 billion for border security - most of it for the building of a wall on the border with Mexico to stop illegal immigration.

"Rural communities have not been treated fairly", Trump said. To lower drug prices, Mulvaney said the budget directs the FDA to push for more generic drugs, so drugs like EpiPen can be offered at a more affordable price.

The only assurances Mulvaney gave to conservatives who might be nervous about deficits is that the 10-year plan reduces $3 trillion in spending over time, and that the recently passed tax reform - which cut corporate and individual tax rates - will increase revenues to the U.S. Treasury.

Wednesday's meeting included lawmakers from both sides of the aisle with hopes to gain bipartisan support for the infrastructure initiative.

What to expect from 'Sen. Mitt Romney' in the Trump era
He called Trump a "phony" and a "fraud" and warned that his national security policy would make Americans less safe. Romney's been considered a top candidate for the Senate seat after longtime Republican Sen.

The report from the White House said only that "the group discussed the president's infrastructure principles that were rolled out earlier this week, including reforming the infrastructure project permitting process, allowing decisions to stay at the state and local level, and investing in our workforce development".
