Samsung is all ready to host its 2018 flagships at the Unpacked 2018 event to be held on February 25 in Barcelona just one day before the MWC 2018 tech show. However, there's no specific timeline mentioned by the company as of yet. While it's surprising that this would happen after months of beta testing the update, software rollouts are in part meant to catch issues like this before they become widespread, so on some level, the strategy worked. The South Korean smartphone maker had begun the beta testing of Android 8.0 Oreo for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ back in the month of November previous year.

Samsung had sent out the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ only last week. The latest Android version managed to reach some regions including India, USA, Turkey, France and Poland. Now Samsung is revealing why: it was causing some phones to randomly reboot, according to a statement given to SamMobile.

"Following a limited number of cases where Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices have rebooted unexpectedly with the Android 8.0 Oreo, we have temporarily stopped the rollout of the update".

The Secret Service is also investigating, authorities said. "This unsafe and reckless act goes beyond political differences". Trump Jr. tweeted later Monday that his wife and children were "safe and unharmed" after the incident.

The report also adds that the company is working on a new firmware version for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Alongside adding these features, the Oreo update also brings improvements to the overall performance of the devices as well as their battery life.
