Google Maps to introduce Mario Kart mode to celebrate "Mario Day"

And this year, Google is getting in on the celebration by enhancing Google Maps with Mario for a week.

In case you missed the memo, tomorrow (March 10) is Mario Day - a day to celebrate the world's favorite animated plumber.

The feature, which Google announced this morning, is available in the latest update in the Google Maps app on both iOS and Android. Tap that block, as if you're trying to jostle out a coin or a Super Star, to get a prompt declaring it to be Mario time, and confirm by tapping "Let's-A Go!" As you can see, it talks about how you can navigate as Mario for March 10th. Once you do, Google Maps will get a dash of Mario Kart as the little guy zips around and tracks your own peramubulations as you use the app for navigation.

"After entering in your destination, you'll notice a yellow question mark "?" icon at the bottom right of the app's screen.
