Android 8.1 Oreo Now Available For OnePlus 5/5T Via Open Beta

The latest open beta version by OnePlus features Android 8.1 Oreo, with some extra improvements and new features, but these can be enjoyed by those who have registered for the Beta program.

The number of Android flagships running Oreo at all is already slim, but those using Android 8.1 are even fewer. According to reports, the open beta program will bring in the much-awaited Android 8.1 Oreo update. That update included features adopted straight from the iPhone X including the swipe up to exit app and multi-tasking through gestures. However, it is noteworthy that the update, now is available only for the OnePlus 5T beta users only.

OnePlus has been regular with its software updates, and notably rolled out Android Oreo 8.0 to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T well before the new version made it to the new OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.
