In Sunday's cup final, Fiji defeated Kenya 31-12 to close in on top spot in the standings while South Africa saw off the U.S. 29-7 in the bronze medal game to be eight points clear at the top with four rounds remaining. However, Fiji responded nearly immediately via a Kalione Nasoko converted try.

The All Blacks Sevens had plenty of possession in both games but were unable to crack the defence of both the United States of America and England.

"I'm speechless and very proud of the boys", Fiji captain Jerry Tuwai said.

"We are the first team to win two tournaments this year but that will only make the other teams much harder to play against".
