The England all-rounder on Monday appeared in court via video link from New Zealand. The trio appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court last month, where the clerk read out the charges and all three defendants indicated not guilty pleas.

The 26-year-old Durham all-rounder is charged with affray after a man allegedly suffered a broken eye socket.

A trial expected to last between five and seven days has now been set for August 6, meaning Stokes will not be available for the second Test against India.

Stokes, 26, had been in the team which played the West Indies in Bristol for a one-day global on September 24 previous year.
