Cleveland Browns Strikes Again: Browns Trade For Veteran Quarterback Tyrod Taylor

The Cleveland Browns have found themselves another quarterback and a wide receiver as they rebuild a team that went 0-16 last season.

Following a day that saw the Browns acquire former Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry in trades, that is no longer the case. They followed that up by sending defensive tackle Danny Shelton to New England on Saturday.

The Browns also hold the top overall pick in next month's NFL Draft. Tim Benz says the Landry acquisition was a great haul, but the several other deals haven't quite moved the needle enough. Why spend a draft pick - especially the top pick in the third round - on a quarterback who might not be more than a bridge? The Browns may still do that and are expected to use the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft on a QB.

That would force the Giants to pick a quarterback, offensive lineman Quenton Nelson, defensive lineman Bradley Chubb or trade down.

Thomas tore his triceps muscle last season, which ended an incredible iron man streak of 10,363 consecutive snaps played. The Browns would make a mistake if they took Saquon Barkley with the first pick in the draft. Though they have been a laughing stock in the league, they have been turning heads with the whole league buzzing about their moves. Getting Taylor gives them a vet who can still make plays while letting the rookie sit.

Taylor appeared in 15 games for the Bills last season, starting 14, with Buffalo going 8-6 in the games he started and leading the team to a wild-card berth.

Top rookie Lonzo Ball contributed five points and seven assists while draft steal Kyle Kuzma pitched in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Just take a look at the ridiculous no-look pass he threw to Ante Zizic in the second quarter.

A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that the Broncos have agreed to trade star cornerback Aqib Talib to the Rams for a mid-round draft pick, believed to be a fifth-rounder.

As ESPN's Adam Schefter said on Twitter Friday, a full five days before trades can become official and 2018 free agency begins, the Packers have informed Randall, who intercepted a career-high four passes in 2017, that he's been traded to Cleveland.

While we won't know who truly "won" this trade until a couple of years from now, the Bills likely won't end up regretting their decision to move Taylor.

President Trump tweeted on Saturday that he would not impose steel and aluminium tariffs on "the great nation of Australia". President Donald Trump finally followed through on his nearly year-old threat to restrict imports of foreign steel.

How does this impact their plans for the upcoming draft, roughly seven weeks away? He has been named to three Pro Bowls in four National Football League seasons and caught more than 100 passes twice and never less than 84 in a year. The team is rumored to be very interested in the free agent pivot, and although he'd command upwards of $30 million in cap space to sign, he's a high-priced gamble that would stabilize the offense. But he's 22 and has plenty of time to develop and there's not many better guys to develop behind than Aaron Rodgers.
