Next Hearthstone Expansion Is Called "The Witchwood", Brings New Mechanics

As announced earlier through an announcement video with Hearthstone developers, The Witchwood expansion is the first one of the Year of the Raven and will release in mid- April, meaning there's about a month for Blizzard to reveal all of the set's cards.

Some of the new cards utilize a new keyword, Echo, that allows them to be played again and again (mana limits allowing); others will feature a new Rush keyword.

Deceptively simple in design but epically engaging, Hearthstone will be instantly accessible to players regardless of their familiarity with Warcraft or collectible card games.

Ronaldo scored twice, his second six minutes from the end, as Real won 2-1 and avoided another slip-up in La Liga. That leaves him with 18 goals in the league, third behind Luis Suarez with 20 and Messi with 24.

Blizzard announced newest Hearthstone expansion 'The Witchwood, ' only moments ago.

We've gotten a look at six cards so far, and they introduce three new abilities.

The Witchwood is now available for pre-purchase on Blizzard's store for $49.99 and comes with 70 decks filled with new cards. Aside from winning new cards, players will be able to round out their collections by purchasing new card packs or disenchanting some of their existing cards to craft the ones they're missing. Between now and the expansion's launch a special Witchwood 50 pack one-time bundle is available which includes 20 additional bonus packs, for a total of 70 packs, and the "In a Dark Wood" card back. When an Echo card is played, you can keep playing as many copies of that card as you like that turn, provided you have enough mana.

Each turn a worgen card is in a player's hand, its Attack and Health are swapped, creating opportunities to play the card at just the right time.

The Witchwood will also offer players a new single-player mode called Monster Hunt. However, if your deck only contains odd-Cost cards, it will upgrade your Hero Power.

Hearthstone: The Witchwood can be pre-purchased starting today, at the price of $49.99!
