3 students injured after armed teacher accidentally fires gun in class

A Seaside High School teacher, who also served as a reserve police officer and a city councilman in Seaside, California, accidentally fired a gun inside the classroom, injuring three students Tuesday. Alexander was teaching a gun safety course as part of his administration of justice class when he fired a single shot from a semi-automatic handgun into the ceiling, the Monterey County Herald and KSBW reported. "During class, the teacher, who is also a reserve police officer, accidentally discharged his firearm during a lesson while it was pointed at the ceiling, and debris from the ceiling then fell". The father, Fermin Gonzalez said his son was hurt when fragments flew after the bullet ricocheted off the ceiling and embedded in his son's neck.

The Sand City Police Department also placed Alexander on administrative leave.

Though the gun didn't shoot anyone directly, "Fragments from the bullet struck a student in the neck", Pridgen said. "It was determined that there was no immediate threat to students or staff, and school remained in session", The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District said in a statement.

On Tuesday afternoon, at around 1 p.m., the California authorities were summoned to the Seaside High School, an institution located south of San Francisco.

Google Assistant is finally introduced on the iPad
It doesn't matter if you're using the iPad in landscape or portrait mode, Google Assistant will still show up. As previously mentioned, Google Assistant for iPad can do everything that it can already do on the iPhone.

The incident comes as gun control has become a central issue following the deadly shooting last month at a Florida high school.

Teachers can not legally possess firearms in California classrooms.

"Due to the nature of this personnel incident, we are unable to share any other details", the letter said.

Ferrante adds that Alexander has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of his department's investigation, which will determine if any of the department's policies regarding the safe handling of firearms were violated.
