Mrs. Pelosi and other anti-Trump politicians have urged ICE to focus on illegal immigrants with what they deem serious crimes on their records, and forgo deporting most illegal immigrants.

Schaaf's warning on February 24, an attempt to protect undocumented immigrants who did not have criminal charges against them and would be separated from their families if detained, ruined the operation that would have arrested potentially hundreds of "criminal aliens", according to statements from ICE Acting Director Thomas D. Homan, Sessions, and Trump.

The false information, according to the spokesman, James Schwab, is related to an ICE operation last month that targeted 1,000 undocumented immigrants in Northern California.

"I quit because I didn't want to perpetuate misleading facts", Schwab told the Chronicle.

"864 criminal aliens and public safety threats remain at large in the community, and I have to believe that some of them were able to elude us thanks to the mayor's irresponsible decision", acting ICE Director Thomas Homan said on the third day of the operation.

Schwab told the newspaper he tried to get ICE to correct the figures quoted by Sessions and others, but was instead asked to deflect reporters' questions. "To say that 100 percent are risky criminals on the street, or that those people weren't picked up because of the misguided actions of the mayor, is just wrong". Sessions, too, stated that ICE will have to pursue "800 wanted criminals" even harder, "all because of one mayor's irresponsible action".

Schwab said he doesn't want to out any particular people in the agency but said he felt he had to make a statement by quitting to do the right thing in his mind.

SBI slashes monthly balance charges by 75 per cent
SBI's plan to reduce the minimum balance requirement reportedly comes after the negative news on the income generated on the fees. The charges at semi-urban and rural centres were also revised to Rs 20-40 from Rs 25-75, said an Economic Times report.

"The people we arrested during this California operation - [who have committed] lascivious acts with a juvenile, assault with deadly weapons, murder - these people were terrorizing immigrant communities", Homan said to FOX Business' Stuart Varney on "Varney & Co". According to ICE, of the 232 people picked up, 115 had felonies or misdemeanors. "It's a false statement because we never pick up 100 percent of our targets".

And Schwab's resignation comes at a time when the federal government and the city of Oakland are in a heated war of words: The head of ICE and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have both accused Schaaf of acting like a gang lookout, warning the bad guys that police are coming to give them time to run away. Jordon Dyrdahl-Roberts wrote a piece in mid-February detailing his hard decision to resign as legal secretary for the Montana Department of Labor and Industry because he didn't want to help process documents that could help ICE track down and deport undocumented immigrants.

Schwab admitted to CNN that he was advised to "deflect to previous statements" in regards to information surrounding Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's decision to warn the community of an upcoming ICE raid.

"It's the job of a public affairs officer to offer transparency for the agency you work for." he argued.
