Carlos Hyde to the Browns

Shortly after reports of running back Carlos Hyde agreeing to a free-agent contract with the Cleveland Browns hit the internet on Wednesday, an old tweet from Hyde resurfaced as well.

ESPN's Pat McManamon reported that the Browns will still consider taking the Penn State product, though USA Today's Jeff Risdon believes that Cleveland is out of the Barkley sweepstakes. Originally a second-round choice in 2014, Hyde said repeatedly during the season that he hoped to remain with the only National Football League team he'd ever played for.

How this affects the Browns' draft will be interesting.

Hyde signed a three-year, $15 million deal, earning him $5 million per-season. Cleveland traded for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Green Bay Packers cornerback Damarious Randall in separate deals. A few hours later, Adam Schefter reported that the 49ers have agreed to terms with former Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon on a four-year deal worth $30 million.

Hyde, who attended Ohio State, led the San Francisco 49ers in rushing each of the past three seasons.
