Will Harry Kane's injury cost Tottenham their Top 4 spot?

(Files) Tottenham Hotspur's English striker Harry Kane lies on the floor after being fouled during the football match against Watford at Vicarage Road Stadium in Watford, on December 2, 2017.

The Tottenham striker was taken off in the first-half of their fixture against Bournemouth on Sunday with damaged ankle ligaments - the third he has suffered the same injury in 18 months.

Tottenham are set to have to go without Kane in several upcoming big clashes but would want their top scorer back for their fight for a top-four finish later in the season.

He also suggested that both the parties should work together to find a solution. After the meeting, Mr Maken said it was a fruitful discussion on the issue.

Both Southgate and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be praying Kane's recovery is more in line with when he hurt his ankle for the second time, against Millwall previous year, but recovered much faster than expected.

It was said Kane could be out until the end of April, which would be a major blow to Tottenham's hopes of finishing in the Premier League's top four and winning the FA Cup. He suffered ligament damage to the same joint twice last season.

In terms of his club campaign, Kane is set to miss an FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea City, as well as league matches against Chelsea, Stoke City, leaders Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion.

His comments centered on the deal addressing U.S. and global concerns about Iran having a nuclear weapons program. In the past two months, the four nations have held two talks.

Kane will also have to sit out England's two friendlies this month against Holland and Italy, with manager Gareth Southgate naming his squad on Thursday.

England will face Tunisia, Belgium and Panama in the World Cup group stage in Russian Federation.

He left the ground on crutches and had to postpone a scan due to the amount of swelling.
