Princeton police are involved in a standoff with a man at a Panera near Princeton University.

Police swarmed the Panera at 136 Nassau St. over a report of an armed man at approximately 10 a.m.

Police Chief Nick Sutter told Planet Princeton that authorities were trying to negotiate with the gunman. The section of the Princeton University campus fronting that part of Nassau street was also off limits to pedestrians and students. While the PPD say "There is no threat to public safety at this time." they advise people to stay away from the area and have closed the area to traffic.
