After recent news that Donnie Yen has joined the film, word comes that Gong Li and Jet Li have joined the cast as well. The movie, now set for a 2020 release, will be directed by Nikki Caro, who directed Whale Rider, McFarland, USA and The Zookeeper's Wife. You got it. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Disney's latest live-action remake has added action superstar Jet Li and Miami Vice's Gong Li to the ever-growing cast.

Donnie Yen has been cast in Disney's live-action adaptation of Mulan that stars Chinese actress and singer Liu Yifei in the title role. Gong Li is another seasoned veteran of the Chinese filmmaking industry, and is now set to play Mulan's villain - a powerful witch.

"Mulan" will join Disney's slate of successful live-action reboots, including "Maleficent", "Cinderella", "The Jungle Book", "Beauty and the Beast", and the upcoming "The Lion King" and "Dumbo".
