NEW YORK (AP) - Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki has a broken left hand went on the disabled list as New York announced Travis d'Arnaud will have Tommy John surgery.

Just two weeks in, Travis d'Arnaud's season is officially over. The Mets, however, said a follow-up MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY on Thursday revealed the fracture.

The Mets announced on Friday morning that Plawecki has a hairline fracture in his left hand and will be placed on the 10-day DL. The 29-year-old has only played in more than 100 games four times since 2007, including twice in six Major League Baseball seasons. He is 3-for-15 with a homer this season in four appearances.
