Dustin Poirier TKO's Justin Gaethje In Thrilling Back-And-Forth Brawl

Poirier and Gaethje received "Fight of the Night" honors and $50,000 apiece for their lightweight brawl on Saturday night at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz.

The UFC traveled to Glendale Arizona with a top shelf card headlined by a guaranteed slobberknocker between home state boy Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.

"This is my 20th fight in UFC". "I would never ask for something I didn't earn".

Cohen has said he paid Daniels out of his own pocket shortly before the 2016 presidential election, but has not explained why. Cohen owns several medallions for New York City yellow cabs that allow them to pick up passengers on the street.

Poirier improved to 7-1 with one no contest since his 2014 TKO loss to former two-division champion Conor McGregor. Gaethje did everything in his power to stay in the fight, but it was not to be, as Poirier's barrage of punches brought in Dean to stop the bout at:33 of the fourth round.

We all know how proficient Gaethje can be with his leg-kicks and after a while, the sheer number of them he landed was a real factor but after a gruelling opening three rounds, Poirier landed a hard shot clean on the chin of his opponent before flurrying and forcing referee Herb Dean to intervene. The No. 6-ranked Gaethje falls to 18-2.

Seconds into round four, a left hand from Poirier drilled Gaethje and hurt him, and "The Diamond" emptied his tank trying to finish.

A smash into Lee's body gave Srikanth the lead at 16-15 before the Malaysian drew level yet again with a superb placement. Piling errors and allowing the Malaysian a massive 7-1 lead in the decider, Srikanth nearly seemed to have given up.

As Gaethje stumbled around the cage, Poirier swarmed in to tag him with combinations before finishing him along the cage wall. The former World Series of Fighting champion was stopped by Eddie Alvarez last December.

Either way, Poirier perfectly showcased not only his toughness but his evolution as a fighter both physically and mentally.

MMA fans everywhere have a reason to be thankful White did not tab Poirier as a last-minute replacement to face Khabib last week, but you would also have to think the UFC would not pass on the opportunity to cash in on what would legitimately be one of - if not the - biggest fights in UFC history between Khabib and McGregor. The former featherweight contender feels reborn in his return to 155 pounds and has added plenty of poise and polish to his exciting style.
