A Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was shot at by some unidentified persons in sector 91 in Mohali on late Friday night.

Parmish and Kulwant sustained a bullet injury each in the leg. Police also recovered six cartridges from a.315-bore gun from the spot.

The 1986-born singer - son of a retired Panjab University professor and who had started his career shooting video films - kept his cool and drove on. Initial reports suggested that the singer was shot by the assailants after he had sent his bodyguard home. Both are out of danger.

Dhahan's Facebook post read, "Mein dilpreetsinghdhahansariya nu dasnachaunda k ajjparmishverma de goliyabazianapamariya(I, Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, want to tell everyone that I am behind the shooting of Parmish Verma)". A police source said Verma's knee was injured in the firing. Dhahan posted a message in Punjabi along with his picture holding a pistol and another picture of Verma with a cross drawn on it on Facebook in this regard in which he said he will try to kill Verma again. The controversial post has already been shared over 1,000 times on Facebook.

In the post, the gangster also said the singer had a choice of whether he wanted to "listen to others".
