Instagram is rolling out their 'Data Download' tool to web users

Following Facebook's Cambridge Analytica scandal, many users have become concerned about how companies handle their data online.

Should a viable Instagram alternative pop up in the near future, users will theoretically be able to transfer their data over without being locked into Instagram's ecosystem. It gives people the opportunity to download "photos, comments, profile information and more" which is ideal for anyone looking to either backup their data, or who is thinking about moving to a rival service.
