Aston Martin reveals hardcore DB11

Luxury vehicle maker Aston Martin has launched a new DB11 AMR at the opening of the Nürburgring-based Performance Centre in Germany. Torque remains at 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters). Replacing the outgoing V12-engined DB11 as the new flagship of the DB11 range, the DB11 AMR offers a more vivid driving experience, greater power, increased performance, and a suite of exterior and interior enhancements. Needing to maintain a clear gap between itself and the new 630bhp DB11 AMR, this sort of power figure is becoming increasingly likely for both coupe and convertible.

This powertrain allows the vehicle to sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds than the old model, on to a top speed of 208mph. A new shift calibration for the transmission and a slightly more vocal exhaust note ensures the DB11 AMR expresses its character more explicitly when Sport mode is engaged. Rather than chrome, Aston now uses a dark monochrome finish for the parts.

Its 0-100 km/h time of 3.7sec is an improvement of 0.2sec over the outgoing model while a top speed of 208 miles per hour makes the DB11 AMR one of the world's swiftest GT cars and the fastest model in Aston Martin's current series production range. The DB11 AMR was launched at the new Nurburgring-based AMR Performance Centre in Germany.

Stylistically the AMR is differentiated from the standard DB11 by a number of exterior features that include dark headlight surrounds, front grille and tailpipes, smoked tail lamps, a gloss black roof, side sills and splitter along with a number of carbon fibre elements. Owners can hear the extra performance because the AMR also features a slightly louder exhaust. This variant gets a Stirling Green paint scheme with Lime pinstripes running across the bonnet along with exposed carbon fibre trim.

Strictly limited to 100 units worldwide, the AMR Signature Edition is priced at £201,995.

Inside, the DB11 AMR scores black leather and Alcantara upholstery with a contrasting lime stripe along with sports seats and a leather sport steering wheel. Only 100 examples of the Signature Edition will be built by the company.
