Turns out that that rumor was the real deal, as Google has just announced a few different new additions for their first-generation wireless earbuds.

Double-Tap: Up to this point, if you double-tapped on the right earbud on your Pixel Buds, you'd hear the notifications that were on your phone. And, it allows you to control your audio too-just swipe forward or backward to control volume and tap to play or pause your music.

Now, Google is adding even more supported gestures via an over-the-air software update. There was no way to skip tracks without summoning the Google Assistant, for instance.

First up, you can triple-tap the right earbud to turn your Pixel Buds off or on, something Google says users have been requesting. The new gestures come in handy when one is using the Pixel Buds with their Pixel or another Android smartphone that has Google Assistant installed.
