Meghan Markle's father decides not to go to Royal Wedding, TMZ reports

Earlier this month, Kensington Palace announced that Thomas Markle was scheduled to walk Meghan down the aisle on her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry.

"On the morning of the wedding, Ms. Ragland will travel with Ms. Markle by vehicle to Windsor Castle", the statement said.

Markle told TMZ he decided not to attend the wedding because he didn't want to embarrass the royal family or his daughter.

Friends of Meghan's say that she is "heartbroken" over what has happened and desperately anxious about her father, who told TMZ he suffered a heart attack six days ago.

The Telegraph in the United Kingdom has even suggested that if the royal couple don't pick a family member then perhaps Harry's bestie, Guy Pelly might able to get the Megster to the altar.

TMZ said that Markle regretted working with a photographer and posing for pictures, which included pictures of Markle getting measured for his wedding suit and another of him looking at pictures of his daughter and future son-in-law. He told TMZ he didn't primarily do it for the money; the Mail on Sunday reported that the photos were sold to outlets worldwide and netted $135,000.
