TI arrested for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and assault

T.I. got busted at his own gated community in Georgia after he got into it with a security guard for the neighborhood.

Media reports say the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, lost his key and the guard would not let him into the community. He then asked the guard, "Don't you know who I am?" according to police.

In an interview with the Blast after his arrest, T.I. said that he got into a "very heated debate" with the guard, but that there was no physical confrontation.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office said T.I. was cited on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an alleged incident about 4 a.m.in Stockbridge, south of Atlanta.

T.I. was booked into the Henry County jail but posted a $2,250 bail shortly after. "The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse". A security guard at the guard shack initially wouldn't let them in either, the online report says.

"To see young people involved with something so important right now - that gives a sense of hope", T.I. said. "Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry", his attorney Steve Sadow wrote on Facebook. The rapper contacted his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, who confirmed that her husband should be allowed inside the community.

T.I. has since been released. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification.

Attorney Sadow says the officers had no interest in "hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip".
