RTÉ's coverage of premier sporting events will shrink further after TV3 won the rights to broadcast the majority of Champions League football matches from next season.

In previous years, TV3 showed games on Tuesdays while RTÉ had rights to Wednesdays.

If you're a Liverpool fan without a BT Sport subscription and have been wondering how you're going to watch the Champions League final next week, stop worrying. BT also confirmed that the clash will be broadcast for free too. "The sports rights market continues to evolve and RTÉ is now competing against major worldwide companies both here and in the United Kingdom, both free and subscription, for the right to broadcast premium sports events in this country".
