A 25-year-old man posed as a teenager enrolled in a Dallas ISD high school and played basketball this school year.

Those who followed Dallas high school basketball this year may know the name Rashun Richardson.

Gilstrap-Portley transferred to Hillcrest High School in October, where he played for the Panthers and allegedly dated a 14-year-old old girl, reported KXAS, an NBC affiliate in Fort Worth, Texas.

His scheme was discovered when one of Gilstrap-Portley's former coaches, who witnessed him graduate from North Mesquite High School, saw him playing in an April tournament and alerted the Hillcrest staff.

"I hadn't heard anything about it", said Christina Lagoda, a parent.

School officials, meanwhile, notified parents of the weird incident in a letter Monday and vowed to review the district's policies, KXAS reports.

Gilstrap-Portley was arrested and charged with felony tampering with government documents for filing false enrollment records.

The woman also said that while she did not approve of her 14-year-old daughter dating Gilstrap-Portley who pretended to be 17 years old. "I never had any problem out of him".

A former coach from North Mesquite High School who recently recognized hime notified the district.

'If it's happening at Hillcrest, then it could be happening somewhere else.

"I'm upset, frustrated, angry and sad at the same time", she said. "It could have gone differently if he had other intentions to hurt her or to traffic her".

The Dallas ISD is now investigating one of their students who they were told was Rashun Richardson.
