President Trump to discuss sanctuary laws with California leaders

There is a direct link between the Supreme Court's decision Monday to strike down a federal law that barred every state but Nevada from allowing betting on most sporting events and the administration's effort to punish local governments that resist Trump's immigration policies, according to some legal experts, the Associated Press reports.

Trump also said the USA has the "the dumbest laws on immigration in the world". Flying in a dozen Republican politicians to flatter him and praise his reckless policies changes nothing.

The president then listened as each of the officials attending the meeting praised the work his administration is doing to address illegal immigration and discussed their municipalities' efforts to challenge the sanctuary state law.

In a meeting with California leaders who oppose their state's sanctuary city laws, the president accused the state of providing 'safe harbor to some of the most vicious and violent offenders on earth'.

Mourinho said: "Moving forward I will organise my coaching staff in a way where the assistant manager figure doesn't exist. Faria, Mourinho's long-serving No 2, is stepping down from his function at Outdated Trafford on the finish of the season.

California's Governor, Jerry Brown, was quick to repudiate the meeting on social media.

"Coming out first has a price to pay, and the ACLU has filed a lawsuit against us", Edgar said.

"The concept (of sanctuary laws) that we are even talking about is so ridiculous, " the president said.

"I know what you're going through right now with families is very tough".

Sam Abed, the mayor of Escondido, said before the sanctuary law passed, city officials regularly worked with ICE to see 2,700 illegal immigrant criminals deported, which he attributed to lowering crime rates back to 1980s levels.

"Incredible moment being able to speak directly to the President of the United States, the Attorney General & Homeland Security Secretary about the devastating impact sanctuary state laws are having on CA & the safety of our residents", Gaspar tweeted after the meeting. "The Democrats gave us that law".

In mid-April, Brown deployed "up to 400" members of the National Guard "to combat" criminal activity within the state and at the U.S. -Mexico border. It is also a part of the North American Free Trade Agreement that Trump would like to renegotiate or end. "Certainly don't help us much on trade, but especially at the border, they do nothing for us".

"I think the entire Trump views on immigration is heartless", the former presidential candidate said. Sessions said the Justice Department would be adding immigration judges and prosecuting twice as many immigration cases this year.
