The Bucks Are Bringing In Giannis Antetokounmpo To Recruit Mike Budenholzer

Mike Budenholzer will reportedly be the Milwaukee Bucks' next head coach after spending the previous five years with the Atlanta Hawks, according to ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski.

This is a developing story.

After numerous interviews with candidates, the Milwaukee Bucks have found their new head coach.

Before the split, the Hawks gave Budenholzer permission to speak with the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks for their coaching openings.

Toronto fired Dwane Casey, who may win Coach of the Year, after Cleveland swept the Raptors in the second round. In his fifth season, the Greek Freak has developed into a two-way monster and one of the top 10 players in the National Basketball Association. He was sacked in the middle of the year after Bucks' management wasn't happy with the inconsistent start.

Budenholzer won his coach of the year award after a 60-victory regular season and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2016.

Wojnarowski's report also indicated a finalized contract is expected to be completed "soon".

Having built teams separately centered around success on both ends of the court, Budenholzer is an intriguing fit for the Bucks.

The Bucks have a draft to prepare for, big free agency decisions to come, and an assistant coaching staff to fill.

Prior to that, Budenholzer worked as an assistant coach for the Spurs for 17 years. Messina could still be summoned to Milwaukee for a meeting with the players too, league sources said, but that will largely be determined on the Bucks next step with Budenholzer.
