Plenty of rumours are also doing the rounds, surrounding British actor James McAvoy (Split) signing up to play Bill in the sequel.

He'll be joined by Here And Now actor Andy Bean according to Variety, playing the adult Stanley Uris in the film.

Casting for It 2 is heating up, and yet another terrific actor is joining the sequel to play the adult counterpart of one of the lovable kids from the first film.

James Ransone's arguably best known for his role as Deputy So-and-So in the Sinister movies, while his other notable credits include The Wire, Generation Kill, Treme and Low Winter Son. The young Bill was played by Jaeden Lieberher.

Earlier this year McAvoy and Chastain dropped some pretty big hints over on their Instagram accounts, where they've shared snaps together using the hashtags #it and #itfilm.

The casting for hard-up orphan Mike Hanlon and nerdy bookworm Ben Hanscom - originally played by Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor respectively - has yet to be announced. Andy Muschietti is returning to direct the follow-up, which covers the second half of Stephen King's source material and takes place 27 years after the original events, picking up with the characters as full-on adults.

Fans will have to wait until 6 September next year to see just what happens to the Loser Club. After all, the first film changed many details from King's novel.

It: Chapter Two is now scheduled to be released in theaters on September 6, 2019.
