Yet while Thor may be a malleable property in the comic books - exemplified by the decision to have Jane Foster pick up the hammer - Hemsworth has carved out an iconic embodiment of the silver-screen Asgardian, particularly in the past year with the comedic "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Avengers: Infinity War". Also, Ryan, you're married. But are we looking at a sequel of Empire quality or Speed 2: Cruise Control? Credit Morena Baccarin, who has been unbelievable on "Gotham", with using her role as the love of Deadpool's life to give the film a brief moment of sincerity.

You got to hand it to the Deadpool 2 marketing... it has been every bit as irreverent and clever as the Ryan Reynolds-led movies themselves. Of course he was going to make jokes about cashing in on his own popularity and making a rushed sequel.
