It's a ceremonial event by law enforcement and other groups to show support for people in our area competing in the Special Olympics.

"The main objective of today's run is to raise awareness for Special Olympics and the fact that we have 66,000 athletes here in the state alone and our partnership with law enforcement which has been ongoing for over thirty years", said New York Special Olympics Director of Development, Cassandra Rucker.

Special Olympics Athlete Becky Cavanagh of Clarendon Hills added, "Eating donuts is my favorite part of Cop on a Rooftop".
