Mercedes delay engine upgrade due to 'quality issue'

A quality issue meant Mercedes had to postpone the introduction of its second power unit of the season this weekend, resulting in Hamilton using the same engine he has used at all six races up to now.

Another went even further, putting the Ferrari slogan Forza Ferrari alongside a GIF of a Mercedes Benz vehicle ornament.

The British driver was hoping to have an updated engine for the race at Montreal's Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, but his Mercedes team didn't have it ready on time.

And the race in Canada will have the same compounds that were used in Monaco - the supersoft, the ultrasoft and the hypersoft tires - when Mercedes struggled to bring it up to the optimum temperature and extract the maximum performance from the tires.

"So all Mercedes-powered cars will be running PU1 again this weekend, too, before the new units are available in France".

If that was to happen the pressure would be on Max Verstappen to put the multiple mistakes he has made in 2018 behind him and lead the charge for the Milton Keynes outfit, potentially trying to take advantage of any weakened rivals ahead.

Verstappen keeps it clean in Canada to be fastest in practice
The only thing slowing the German down on Saturday was a line of cars that interrupted his attempt at going even faster. After leading all three practice sessions, Max Verstappen will start third in his Red Bull, alongside Hamilton.

"This was one that got away and it's a bitter pill for us all to swallow", Wolff said.

Lewis Hamilton's quest for a record-tying seventh Canadian Grand Prix victory will be tougher than he wanted.

"Following Lewis's pit stop, we believed that we had the scenarios of both the safety vehicle and the virtual safety auto covered, so that Sebastian could not pit and come out ahead of Lewis on track".

Ferrari are also expected to use an upgraded engine for all their teams, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.

But others have also found the track to their liking including two of Hamilton's biggest challengers.

Both Toro Rosso drivers, Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley, will have an upgraded Honda engine.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes 'irreversible decision to leave Real Madrid'
The Frenchman jokingly refers to himself as "Agent P" and convinced Romelu Lukaku to reject Chelsea for United last summer. But if he is put up for sale, then United want to be the club where he goes.

In the morning session, Williams driver Sergey Sirotkin spun and hit a wall, but was able to continue.

Stroll became the youngest rookie to make it to the podium after a third place finish in Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2017.

That emotionally charged weekend was capped off by a sixth win in Canada. Instead of that, we'll use the new one in Budapest.

"I'm excited to try to build on the history I have here", said Hamilton, who leads the drivers championship by 14 points over Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

From the midfield, expect Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz, and Pierre Gasly to put in a strong performance and complete our quintet.

Simona Halep beats Solaine Stephens to win first Grand Slam
Now she has another chance to break her duck when she takes on American 10th seed Sloane Stephens in the final at Roland Garros. The second set was more of a test for Halep, who was ahead by a set and 3-0 before falling apart against Ostapenko a year ago.
