Danny Kirwan, a singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with Fleetwood Mac during the legendary band's nascent stages, has assed away in London at the age of 68. Danny played a key-role in Mac's band during the late 1960's and early 1970's.

Fleetwood said it was Kiran's "love for the blues" that led him to the band.

Heartbreaking The iconic rock band broke the news by sharing a touching tribute post onto their Facebook page revealing Kirwan had died in London on Friday

The tribute also listed the fan-favourite albums that featured Danny's work - including Then Play On, Blues Jam At Chess, Kiln House, Future Games and Bare Trees. Kirwan was an influence on the group's earlier blues days with co-founding guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer and contributed to their first United Kingdom #1 hit "Albatross".
