New Aquaman images featuring Arthur Curry, Mera, Ocean Master and Queen Atlanna

The Aquaman marketing machine kicked into a new gear this week with the first images, new character details, and more. Displayed at the bottom of this article, the image of Kidman as Aquaman's mother shows her cradling her young son, Arthur Curry, as she speaks with Temuera Morrison's Thomas Curry, Aquaman's human father. The trailer for the highly anticipated DC movie is expected to drop any day now and there are some brand-new photos from the production that offer the best look at the big screen adaptation of Arthur Curry's story that we've seen yet, and it all looks very promising.

Today, EW posted our first look underwater at the armies of Atlantis' King Orm (Patrick Wilson) and Xebel's King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren) facing off at The Council of the Kings.

And here's villainous mercenary of the high seas and "ruthless treasure hunter" David Kane, aka Black Manta, played byYahya Abdul-Mateen II, who will face off against the denizens of Atlantis. And Wan, of course, is directing.

Wan states: 'He's part mercenary but full-time pirate who, in his suit will look like some insane alien from outer space... Black Manta's helmet looks particularly impressive and faithful to the comics.
