Sony’s Fortnite Response Further Angers PS4, Switch Fans

Popular Battle royale game Fortnite was also a prominent presence at the event - announcing its availability on the Nintendo Switch, with the game then downloaded more than two million times in its first 24 hours.

WTF?! PlayStation 4 owners who were anxious to take their Fortnite gaming on the go with the Nintendo Switch got a rude awakening when they discovered that their Epic accounts would not launch on the mobile platform. The lack of cross-play means any purchases they've made on PS4 won't carry over to the Switch.

Fortnite comes to the Nintendo Switch
The number of people playing exploded in September 2017 after the Battle Royale mode was added as a free addition to the game. There's no doubt that Epic Games will be wanting to capitalize on the football hype with these Fortnite soccer skins.

Fils-Aime noted Nintendo has "always had great business relationships across the developer-publisher community", and that one factor fans wanting these games on Switch may not be considering is the timing of development and Nintendo's conversations with developers and publishers. "With more than 80 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network, we've built a huge community of gamers who can play together on Fortnite and all online titles", the statement read in part. There is no such restriction on players moving between Xbox One and Switch, a fact that has stoked anger further.

Players drop out of a flying purple bus and parachute down to an island below where they try to locate weapons and supplies in distinct regions that will be used to kill others in the game. These links leave Siliconera. That's unfortunate for anyone who wanted to play Fortnite with their friends regardless of what console they own. Although during E3 2018 the devs have been presented some outstanding games, the announcement that looks like it's going to capture all the attention is the one regarding Fortnite on Switch.

Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal charged after ball-tampering row
But based on this official denial, it seems likely that the charge will be contested. Sri Lanka protested by refusing to leave its dressing room for almost 90 minutes.

But it may have been because Epic Games had already pencilled in the surprise Nintendo Switch Fortnite release. (Unless keeping its console separate from the others becomes a deal-breaker with consumers, in which case even Sony might be persuaded to stop creating artificial boundaries along console lines between players.) Games will remain fragmented.

To commemorate the milestone Epic Games also shared more details about its upcoming 2018-2019 competitive season. Nintendo is also not forgetting about its 3DS gamers and have discounted a bunch of 3DS games. Either way, this past week hasn't been smooth sailing for the platform holder. The one that's now making headlines is the account connectivity problem that's basically screwing tons of Switch players out of items they've paid for and their account progress.

Allegri: I turned down Real Madrid job
Spain's manager Juliet Lopetegui is expected to lead his charges to world cup glory in Russian Federation but it has now been announced he would join Real after the tournament.

In related news that offers a bit more positivity, the recently concluded tournament during E3 does more than provide a bit of fun for "Fortnite" players and $3 million in prizes.
