Details about the part Keri is being considered for have yet to be released, but she will reportedly perform "action-heavy fight scenes".

Sources tell Variety that the “Felicity” alum is in early talks to join J.J. Abrams “Star Wars: Episode IX, ” which Abrams is writing and directing. In any event, with more than a full calendar year between Star Wars movies and still stinging from the box office frustration, it seemed as though the cast and crew of Episode IX may have been staying quiet so as not to be a distraction.but with production about to kick into high gear, expect more news soon. Russell and Abrams last collaborated on 2006's "Mission: Impossible III". But let's be real, the role was probably hers all along, given her long working relationship with Abrams, who created her most famous role in his hit series Felicity. When contacted for confirmation, Lucasfilm said they had no comment on the report. In 2013, TV Line asked if she'd be interested in joining the franchise with the helm, and she joked that she was, "waiting for my call", adding, "I would do anything for J.J".

Abrams and Lucasfilm execs had been meeting with several actresses for the role for the past two months and settled on Russell right before the Fourth of July holiday.
