Microsoft Will Reveal "All-New Xbox Hardware" Next Month

E3 was barely a month ago but already games companies are looking to its European cousin as the next big event on the gaming calendar.

With Gamescom quickly approaching, publishers are beginning to reveal just what attendees and those watching from home can expect to see from them at the show.

For starters, Microsoft announced that there will be a special edition of Inside Xbox taking place live from Gamescom next month.

DHL Express to order 14 Boeing 777 Freighters in $4.7bn deal
Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) announced an order for 30 737 MAX airplanes in its first direct purchase from Boeing. Farnborough, England hosts the show every other year - alternating with the Paris Air Show in France.

Even though the current generation Xbox One was initially released in late 2013 and saw subsequent updates with the Xbox One S and Xbox One X in 2016 and 2017 respectively, we aren't likely to see next-generation Xbox hardware at the event.

The tease comes from a Major Nelson blog post detailing the company's Gamescom plans.

That, as you can guess, sparked plenty of speculation about what that new hardware could be. It named some of those games in today's announcement - Forza Horizon 4, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and State of Decay 2 - but the rest are still largely a mystery.

MLB All Star Josh Hader's Racist & Homophobic Tweets Exposed
It will certainly be interesting to hear MLB's response, and hopefully it's not just that Hader was a dumb 17-year-old. He added: "Being 17 years old you make stupid decisions and mistakes". "I really don't know what all is out there".

In addition, the Xbox FanFest is returning to Gamescom this year. After all, gamers love surprise announcements, and there are a ton of games Xbox could potentially demo at the show, plus rumored features like mod support.

Finally, Microsoft says that a new Xbox-exclusive mode for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be playable for the first time at Gamescom, so that'll definitely be something to keep an eye on.

You can find out for yourself by tuning into Microosft's Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, Mixer or YouTube channels from 3.30pm BST on August 21.
