Giuliani: 'I want you to hear' Cohen tapes

"Specifically now, and in light of learning, one that Michael was taping the president, two, that he doesn't have a tape of this, I would believe the president", he said.

That's a stark reversal from what Giuliani once said about Cohen, whom he described as truthful not long ago.

"The man is a pathological manipulator, liar", Giuliani said.

CBS News' Elections and Survey's Director Anthony Salvanto reports that this speaks to how Trump's strongest backers feel such a personal connection with the president and want to defend him against what they perceive as being a politically motivated witch hunt. But the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign remains a divisive political issue, with Republicans more likely to doubt the FBI and US intelligence agencies and more likely to back the president.

Nunberg said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that it was common knowledge among Trump's associates that Cohen recorded phone calls.

Donald Trump says he had ‘very nasty’ relationship with special counsel
In an interview on CNN, the former New York City mayor suggested that Trump would have had to pay Russian operatives to collude. Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal attorney, told CNN that Trump definitely knew about the Trump Tower meeting in 2016.

Michael Cohen's claim that Donald Trump knew of a July 2016 meeting in Trump Tower between a Kremlin-linked lawyer and top Trump campaign associates, including his son and son-in-law, could change that.

He said he does think the rift will continue between Trump and Cohen, but he doesn't think the tape reveals criminal activity.

Legal experts told Business Insider last week that they found it freakish that Cohen felt the need to record a conversation with Trump, and some said they had never heard of an attorney secretly recording a client.

"We were counting delegates and we wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of insurrection, so there was a massive amount of activity around that, very, very little activity away from that", said Scaramucci.

But after the release of the Trump-Cohen recording, Trump criticized his former attorney, saying on Wednesday, "What kind of a lawyer would tape a client? I didn't know him well, but I knew nothing bad about Michael Cohen until all of this started to happen in the last couple weeks".

Aurora police fatally shoot armed resident who killed intruder during home invasion
Black was a US Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was a certified public accountant, according to KUSA. Aurora police received multiple calls about a break-in at the suburban Denver home at about 1.30am on Monday.

He also conceded that such matters were under Cohen's "purview".

Chris Wallace is dismissing the notion that the latest news about Michael Cohen will be of any real political or legal danger to President Donald Trump. He once said that he would "take a bullet" for Trump.

Jay Goldberg, another former Trump lawyer, argued Friday on CNN's "Erin Burnett Out Front" that Giuliani "immeasurably" damaged his case against Cohen with the sudden shift in tone. He certainly wouldn't be the first president, if he did, who had done so.

"No defense lawyer would say that", Goldberg said.

'I feel blessed' - No deaths in Mexico passenger jet crash
He says that escape slides were activated so all passengers and crew could escape before the plane caught fire Tuesday afternoon. But remarkably, no one was killed when the Aeromexico jet came down in Durango, according to the state governor.
