Authorities responding to reports of a child thrown into the river found the unconscious girl about 30 minutes later. Emergency services rushed the girl to St. Joseph's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

"I saw a woman in the river which is very odd". Police found her body half-submerged shortly after, but it was too late. That's when witnesses say the owner of that vehicle told Denson to get out, but not before they say Denson invited a random child along for the ride. "She is in custody, but has provided little information at this point".

Some witnesses said they could see the girl's hands above the water - then they disappeared. TPD has confirmed that Denson is the child's mother. The child was "screaming loudly and was not cooperating" with Denson, the report stated.

Tampa police say the investigation has determined that Denson stole a grey Nissan Altima from an auto fix shop before forcefully putting JeHyrah in the back seat.
