In a stunningly unexpected twist, City of Lies, the upcoming true-crime drama about the investigation into the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., has been delayed from its original release date indefinitely, according to a report by Deadline. The film was set to be released in North America by Global Road Entertainment on September 7 and no new release date has been set.

MoviePass will limit customers to three movies per month
Last week, MoviePass announced subscribers would be limited to certain blockbuster film within the first two weeks of release. MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe blamed the change on the small number of users who were taking advantage of the "unlimited" promise.

In City of Lies, Depp plays LAPD detective Russell Poole, and Whitaker is the journalist looking into the unsolved murder, which came six months after the death of Smalls' rap rival Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas.

Had it been released next month, it would coincide with the iconic rappers 46th birthday.

Johnny Depp's Notorious B.I.G. movie, City of Lies, has been pulled-at least temporarily. The film was directed by Brad Furman. No word on if this means the film is simply getting a new release window, if it will be moved to streaming services, or if it won't receive a release entirely.

HuffPost UK has contacted Depp's representative for comment. Brooks also alleges that the actor's breath "reeked of alcohol". Also complicating matters is a lawsuit against Depp from this film's location manager Gregg "Rocky" Brooks, who says "he was repeatedly hit by Depp after being informed that filming that night in downtown L.A. was going to have to wrap late". Depp denied the allegations and Heard later issued a joint statement with her ex-husband saying "there was never any intent of physical or emotional harm".
