Amazon Alexa doesn't have all the answers.

Usually when the voice assistant is stumped, it'll return an answer like "I don't know that, but I'm always learning", "I can't find the answer to the question I heard", or "Sorry, I didn't understand the question".

According to a new report published by The Information, which we first saw via Gizmodo, most people who own Alexa-enabled devices don't use them for shopping.

"The Alexa service is getting smarter every day, and Answer Updates is just another way we're continuing to expand Alexa's Knowledge Graph", an Amazon spokesperson told the website adding that users will be able to opt out of the update simply by saying "Alexa, turn off Answer Update" when the feature is made available to them. The user will need to enable the feature to use it, though. To enable it, say "Alexa, enable answer updates".

The Knowledge Graph is the information database Alexa uses to answer questions.

Amazon is set to roll out their latest feature "Answer Update" for Amazon Alexa users over the next week, which will inform them when the virtual assistant learns the answer to a previously asked question. - Just by pressing the button on the steering wheel, users will be able to ask Alexa about the music, attractions and much more without taking your eyes off the road. One of the other features, being an Amazon product after all, is the ability to order items via voice and shop.

The company is rolling out an update to Echo smart speakers that is essentially meant to allow Alexa to memorize a question it can't answer and then come back to the user once it's fetched an adequate response.

That's a relatively small percentage considering how often an ad for the Amazon Echo speakers feature someone asking Alexa to order something.
