Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Casts Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey As Leads

That vow is proving to be good as gold, as Schwartz has just being cast as the bluest '90s cartoon character of them all: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Jim Carrey has joined James Marsden of "Westworld" and "X-Men" in an adaptation of speedy SEGA video game franchise "Sonic the Hedgehog". Standard Sonic stuff then. That gives Ben Schwartz plenty of time to also land roles as the new voice of Beavis, Buster Bunny, Tommy Pickles, and Homer Simpson's trousers before we see him spin into theaters.

Indonesia's Lombok hit by another strong quake
A field hospital has also been established near an evacuation centre catering to more than 500 people in the village of Tanjung. Authorities are still searching through the rubble left behind on Lombok Island, still hoping to find survivors.

Now shooting under Paramount Pictures, the live action Sonic the Hedgehog film also features former X-Men actor James Marsden among its growing cast, with director Jeff Fowler at the helm, noted for receiving an Oscar nod for 2005 animated short "Gopher Broke".

Ben Schwartz, famous for playing the obnoxious "pick-up artist and baller" Jean-Ralphio on Parks And Recreation has been picked to voice the titular speed demon in the live-action/animation hybrid Sonic The Hedgehog. Whether or not it lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but it's nice to see that Schwartz seems genuinely confident about the project.

Chase Elliott wins at Watkins Glen
It occurred on an afternoon where he led a race-high 52 laps and won Stage 2 - his third consecutive race with a stage win. Maybe Watkins Glen will be where Denny Hamlin joins the exclusive club of winners in 2018. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Sonic the Hedgehog will be directed by first-time director Jeff Fowler, working from a script that has been worked on by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller and Oren Uziel.

The film will be taking a live-action/CG approach, with Marsden, Sumpter, Carrey and other actors interacting with Sonic and company in CG form.

James Gunn Could Return to Direct a Different MCU Movie
Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn was sacked last month after some old Tweets came to light. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is slated to debut in 2020.

Some context for the above tweet, this isn't the first iconic "blue" character from the 90s that Schwartz has voiced. It's now set to premiere on November 15, 2019.
