Disney will not rehire James Gunn for 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3'

Disney and Marvel are said to be standing by their decision not to reinstate him, and this comes after a meeting took place with James Gunn himself and Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn. Furthermore, Disney's real motivations have been the subject of skepticism given the context in which Gunn's tweets have come newly to light: by way of alt-right media personality Mike Cernovich, whose ostensible antipathy for Gunn many have linked to the latter's vocal politics. The decision was made as they were believed to be "unacceptable" in the time of #MeToo and weren't part of Disney's family-friendly image. Cast members including Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana asked for Gunn to be reinstated in an open letter.

The James Gunn situation is still being sorted out by Disney and Marvel, and the whole situation saddens one of the actors Gunn directed in the original Guardians of the Galaxy. Apparently, Horn/Disney has chose to stand by their decision to sack James Gunn.

Gunn and his UTA reps pushed hard for him to be given a second chance, and Horn chose to take the meeting but only as a courtesy to clear the air with Gunn.

In a video posted on Twitter, Salah appeared to be on his phone while sitting in traffic and surrounded by a number of people. Mohamed Salah has become Liverpool's master finisher supreme and a new video outlines his quality in front of goal.

Once again, this especially convoluted narrative might yet still yield surprises, be they to the delight or chagrin of fans of the Guardians movies and supporters of Gunn. Marvel head Kevin Feige was reportedly out of town, and sources also claim that he was in support of Gunn's rehiring; however Feige will stand by the studio's decision regardless.

Gunn was in the process of writing the script for the third "Guardians" installment when he was axed, with production expected to begin in Atlanta in early 2019 with a targeted 2020 release date. They can, however, perhaps take solace in the fact that Disney are still looking to use the director's script, albeit with the caveat that anyone coming in to replace him will "need to put a polish on it in order to add their stamp to the project".
