STD cases hit an all-time high in the US

Sexually-transmitted diseases continue to hit all-time highs in the USA with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting a 10 percent spike for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis in 2017. Chlamydia is the most commonly reported STD with nearly 1.7 million cases in 2017, up from just over 1.4 million in 2013. Some experts believe it may be caused by less-frequent condom use, better diagnostics, and even dating apps.

A lack of sex education also is contributing to the spread of STDs, said Michael Fraser, executive director for the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.

"We're sliding backward", Jonathan Mermin, director of CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention, said. This represents the fourth consecutive year of a "steep, sustained" increase in STD cases - a 31 percent increase of 2013 levels. More than 1.7 million cases were diagnosed in 2017, with 45 percent among 15- to 24-year-old females.

Trump's claims , which he provided no evidence for, appear to be based on a report from conservative blog the Daily Caller . In an earlier tweet late Tuesday, Trump cited a "report just out".

Diagnoses of primary and secondary syphilis rose 76 percent from 17,375 to 30,644. Around 70 percent of the cases featured gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. Gonorrhea cases alone jumped a shocking 67 percent from the number in 2013, according to the analysis presented at the CDC's 2018 STD Prevention Conference in Washington.

Indeed, Novak Djokovic went unpunished when he removed his shirt completely on the same day Cornet received her warning. Many critics noted that male players frequently change their shirts while sitting in their chairs during changeovers.

Over the years, gonorrhea has become resistant to almost every class of antibiotics used against it. Ceftriaxone (Rocephin) now stands as the only antibiotic to retain high effectiveness against gonorrhea in the United States, the CDC says.

"M$3 ost cases go undiagnosed and untreated - which can lead to severe adverse health effects that include infertility, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth in infants, and increased HIV risk", according to the CDC.

The CDC also reported that the threat of untreatable gonorrhea continues in the United States.

Seattle judge blocks release of downloadable blueprints for producing 3D-printable guns
It's also worth noting that more than 1,000 people had already downloaded plans for the 3D guns before today's ruling. It doesn't seem to be a hill to die on for President Trump, who has said recently that 3D printed guns make no sense.
