Actor Burt Reynolds dead at 82

He reportedly died of a heart attack in Florida. US Weekly confirmed the news with a source close to the matter, who said Reynolds' family was by his side at the time.

Burt Reynolds, the star of Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Boogie Nights, has died, aged 82.

The latter film earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1997.

Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. was born in Waycross, Ga., and attended Florida State U. for two years on a football scholarship.
