Trump disputes Puerto Rico storm death toll, draws outcry

President Donald Trump took to Twitter Thursday to lambast an official report on Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Irma and Maria a year ago, accusing Democrats of inflating the number of deaths. The goal? To make him look bad, of course!

Puerto Rico's governor, Ricardo Rosselló, raised the official toll from 64 to 2,975 last month after an independent study found that the number who had died in the chaotic six-month aftermath of the storm had been considerably undercounted.

Mr Trump said people who died for any reason - "like old age" - had been added to the total.

"When I left the Island, after the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths", Trump tweeted.

"As time went by it did not go up by much", Trump wrote.

More than 10 million bottles of water left to rot on a Puerto Rican airport tarmac were deemed "excess" supplies that federal officials decided the island didn't need while recovering from Hurricane Maria, FEMA said on Thursday.

The Republican president said Democrats had inflated the number of dead in Puerto Rico "in order to make me look as bad as possible" but he did not provide evidence. That is only an estimate, however, since they did not study how each individual died, although they hope to conduct that study in the future.

The latest wearable also touts a built-in (and FDA-approved) EKG sensor to help diagnose heart diseases and other conditions. It also means developers might have a harder time taking advantage of those features if Apple decides to remove any more.

This admission is important, because it helps explain how death tolls work.

Hundreds of thousands of water bottles meant for victims of Hurricane Maria are still sitting at a Puerto Rico airport - almost a year after the deadly storm, according to a report.

The report said numerous deaths occurred weeks later because of devastating damage to the Caribbean island's electrical grid that curbed treatment for those with life-threatening injuries or medical conditions. He also trafficked in racist stereotypes about lazy Latinos by suggesting that people in Puerto Rico "want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort".

With Hurricane Florence set to pummel the East Coast, President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday to brag about his administration's widely criticized response to last year's Hurricane Maria, which devastated Puerto Rico. I hate talking about politics and all that.

Then he watched them turn into the best team in the league during the season, and validate that status in the postseason. Seattle obliterated Washington and became the sixth team to sweep the Finals in three games.

She also said Trump was trying to bully Puerto Rico with his tweets and called him "delusional, paranoid, and unhinged from any sense of reality".
