NASA posts incredible video of Hurricane Florence from space

On Wednesday, at the moment of the US National Hurricane Center announcement, Hurricane Florence was at about 335 miles (540 kilometers) away off the US East Coast, more specifically, right at the southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Hurricane Florence is a Category-4 storm that's headed for the US East Coast and predicted to start impacting SC and North Carolina as early as Thursday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.

It will likely take until Monday, however, before the threat of significant heavy rain is over, and it will still rain at times. About 9,700 National Guard troops and civilians have been deployed, with high-water vehicles, helicopters and boats.

Astronaut Alexander Gerst also joined in the fun, explaining that the fearless space men and women need wide-lense cameras to take these incredible photos.

Gerst went on to add that seeing the hurricane is chilling, even from space, and shared an additional of three pictures that speak for themselves.

As Hurricane Florence continues barreling toward the Carolinas, NASA has posted a remarkable video of the storm with winds approaching 130 miles per hour.

What scares experts about Hurricane Florence
In Virginia, 245,000 coastal residents were ordered to evacuate, including from the Eastern Shore. "He lives in North Carolina". FEMA Administrator Brock Long urged people to prepare for a "very devastating storm", with possibly weeks-long power outages.

The space agency released footage showing what Hurricane Florence looks like from space on Wednesday, as states along the coast brace for what experts are saying will be a devastating impact.
