Pokemon Developer Game Freak Reveals New Switch IP Named Town

This afternoon's Nintendo Direct held many surprise announcements, including both Luigi's Mansion 3 and a new Animal Crossing game for Nintendo Switch.

Game Freak has a new, non-Pokemon, game coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019, now under the working title of Town.

This brand new RPG will place players int the shoes of an ordinary villager.

Combat seems to borrow some ideas from the turn-based battles in the Pokemon series, but it looks like the combat in this title will offer more options than a limited series of attacks and abilities.

Town is planned to release in 2018 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

Game Freak has based Town on creatures that are antagonistic in nature, therefore, serving as a threat to you as a player and your village. But it's certainly quality over quantity, so we're best waiting to see what Game Freak has in store.
