USA border patrol agent suspected of killing 4 women

Law enforcement officers gather near the scene where the body of a woman was found near Interstate 35 north of Laredo, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018.

The 35-year-old suspect, an intel supervisor for the Border Patrol, was found hiding a vehicle park in Laredo, Texas, at around 2am after he initially fled police on Saturday.

Webb County District Attorney Isidro Alaniz said authorities were able to find Ortiz after a woman he allegedly kidnapped tried to escape. A second victim, Claudine Anne Luera, was found alive but died at the hospital.

Seahawks to sign ex-Eagles LB Kendricks
He and Sonoiki were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and one count of securities fraud. Besides the legal trouble, Kendricks could also be facing a potential punishment from the NFL .

It is unclear what evidence suggests that Ortiz is the killer of all of the women but authorities have noted similarities in each crime.

Alaniz said that after the suspect picked up the fifth woman she quickly realised that she was in danger.

Authorities didn't disclose the victims' names or nationalities but said they may have been prostitutes.

‘Presidential Alert’: FEMA To Test Emergency Alert System
The WEA system is already used to warn the public about missing children, risky weather and other vital information, FEMA said. But it won't be a political message or attack on one of his perceived enemies-or at least, it's not supposed to be.

"We have very strong evidence that he is the person who has been killing", Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar said at a news conference posted on KGNS's Facebook page. Police say all four women were prostitutes. More disturbing, one-third of all sex worker deaths are due to murder by serial killers, according to a 2006 study.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued a statement saying that it was fully cooperating with the investigation.

His statement added: "Our sincerest condolences go out to the victims' family and friends". "While it is CBP policy to not comment on the details of an ongoing investigation, criminal action by our employees is not, and will not be tolerated", the agency said. Authorities believe he acted alone. Ortiz will be charged with four murder charges and one unlawful restraint with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Alaniz said. But the spokesperson referred all other questions to authorities in Webb County and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
