Newcastle owner Mike Ashley says he is "hopeful" the club will be sold to "an owner that will please everybody".

"Talks are at a more progressed stage than they've ever been".

Mike Ashley has ensured Rafa Benitez will have his hands tied once again in the January transfer window after putting the club up for sale once again.

Speaking to Sky News, the owner of sports-goods retailer Sports Direct stated that he remains hopeful that a deal to relinquish control of the club could be reached by the end of 2018.

It has previously attracted the interest of Amanda Staveley's PCP Capital Partners, which tabled a £300m bid late previous year.

In fact, the launch of version 2019 could be followed by the launch of a completely new version of AirPods in the course of 2020. There has been talk about Apple adding the "Hey Siri" feature, allowing users to activate the virtual assistant with that phrase.

Ashley has endured a fractious relationship with Newcastle fans, culminating in a protest at the club's last home game - a 3-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday.

Asked whether that was a realistic proposition, he added that it was "possible", but that realistic was "maybe too strong a word".

However, a report from Luke Edwards at the Telegraph might offer Newcastle fans more concrete hope than ever.
