Athletics expect Kyler Murray to enter National Football League draft

Murray will not play both football and baseball in 2019, and one naturally would expect that the higher he goes in the NFL draft, the more likely he is to pursue a career in football over one with the A's, who picked him in the first round of the MLB draft past year.

Oklahoma Sooners superstar quarterback Kyler Murray is now expected to enter the National Football League draft.

An exchange followed, with Murray even offering to sort her out a ticket for his first-round match against Roberto Bautista Agut . The draw pits Federer and Nadal in the same half, opening up the potential for a semi-final meeting between the pair.

If the Cardinals don't take him, there's still likely several teams in the first round that would use a pick on him. But we need to up that talk.

It started innocuously enough when then-Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said this back in October about Murray.

"I'd like to do both if possible, " he said. I've followed him since he was a sophomore in high school. I've never seen one better in high school and he's starting to show it now at the college level. He's phenomenal. I've never seen him have a poor outing. "But he's done it". "All I know is Kyler has a tremendous opportunity to be a great baseball player and he knows that".

Declaring for the draft does not guarantee that Murray, an outfielder Oakland selected ninth overall, will decide to reject his $4.66 million deal with the A's outright, but it certainly increases the chances that Oklahoma's star quarterback will decide to go pro in football rather than baseball. But realistically, it's unlikely Kingsbury would take Murray with the top pick, no matter how big of a freak he is. Kingsbury was sacked by Texas Tech after three straight losing seasons, and he was hired as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, who just so happen to have the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.

Observers said many polling stations opened late and closed early and in some places voting machines malfunctioned. Shouts of joy erupted at the commission's offices as the historic results were announced.

The Cardinals may have taken Josh Rosen at quarterback a year ago, but if Kingsbury believes in Murray that much, they should take him all the way and just trade Rosen.
